My PDF contains text with abnormal size values - how do I outline my text?

You can outline your text in Photoshop or Illustrator

Photoshop

  1. Open the original Photoshop file (.psd)
  2. Find layers containing text (denoted by a "T" in the layer name)
  3. Right-click the layer and select "Create Outlines" / Convert to Shape
  4. Your text is now a shape, and is vectorized - this will make the text look as crisp as possible when printed
  5. For best results, you should then save your PDF, using the preset PDF/x-1a

Illustrator

  1. Open the Illustrator file (.ai) or PDF
  2. Select the text layer or text box on the canvas
  3. Click "Type>Create Outlines" from the top menu
  4. Your text should now be converted to a vector shape
  5. For best results, you should then save your PDF, using the preset PDF/X-1a:2001
