Why Cotton instead of Paper?

Cotton paper is one of the older forms of paper manufacturing that became less common as paper made of wood pulp, a cheaper and more easily mass-produced alternative grew in popularity. Cotton paper is still used to this day in fine arts and currency printing because of its strength and durability. As well as a great story behind it.
