To ensure the best print quality for your products, please follow these guidelines when uploading your designs.
Image Resolution Requirements
If you're uploading photography or non-vector artwork (e.g., JPEGs, PNGs), make sure your images are at least 96 dpi. However, for optimal print quality, we highly recommend using images at 300 dpi. Higher resolution images result in sharper and more professional-looking prints.
If your designs are a mix of photography and design elements, ensure that all embedded photographs meet or exceed the recommended pixel dimensions listed below.
Maximum File Size
Please note that individual files must be less than 20 MB. Files larger than this cannot be uploaded to MOO.

Why High Resolution Matters
Using high-resolution images ensures that your printed products look sharp and professional. Low-resolution images may appear pixelated or blurry when printed.
How to Check Image Resolution in Common Design Software
To make sure your images meet the recommended resolution, you can check the dpi (dots per inch) in your design software. Here's how:
Adobe Photoshop
- Open your image in Photoshop.
- Go to Image > Image Size.
- In the dialog box, look for the Resolution field.
- Ensure the resolution is set to 300 pixels/inch.
Adobe Illustrator
- Open your document in Illustrator.
- Go to Effect > Document Raster Effects Settings.
- In the dialog box, set the Resolution to 300 ppi.
- Click OK.
Adobe InDesign
- Open your document in InDesign.
- Go to Window > Output > Preflight.
- In the Preflight panel, click on the Links and Images section.
- Check the Effective PPI of your images; they should be at least 300 ppi.
Other Software
If you're using other design software, look for image or document properties that show the resolution or dpi/ppi settings. Ensure that your images are set to 300 dpi for optimal quality.
How to Convert Images to the Recommended DPI
If your image has a lower resolution than recommended, you can convert it to 300 dpi. Keep in mind that simply increasing the dpi may not improve image quality if the original image is low resolution. For the best results, start with high-resolution images.
Steps to Convert Image Resolution in Photoshop
- Open your image in Photoshop.
- Go to Image > Image Size.
- Uncheck the Resample option to maintain image quality.
- Change the Resolution to 300 pixels/inch.
- Click OK.
If the image dimensions become too small after changing the resolution, you may need to find a higher-resolution version of the image.
Tips for Improving Image Resolution
- Use Original Images: Work with the original, highest-resolution files whenever possible.
- Avoid Scaling Up: Enlarging low-resolution images can lead to pixelation and loss of quality.
- Scan at High Resolution: If scanning images, set the scanner to at least 300 dpi.
