What are Letterpress Business Cards?
Letterpress Business Cards use a traditional printing technique where elements of the design are pressed into thick, soft paper. This creates a debossed impression you can both see and feel.
Unlike other business cards, these are not fully customisable. Instead, they come as a curated set of designs created specifically for the letterpress process.
Is this right for you?
This works well if you want:
- A refined, tactile finish with a pressed-in texture
- A premium card with a classic, understated look
- A professionally designed layout without needing to create your own
This may not be the right fit if you want:
- Full design control
- Custom artwork or branding applied
- Detailed or complex layouts
Compared to other options:
- More tactile than standard printed cards
- More structured and less flexible than Original, Super, or Luxe
- Focused on craftsmanship rather than customisation

What makes letterpress different?
Letterpress is a physical printing process where the design is pressed into the paper.
This creates:
- A debossed (pressed-in) texture
- A subtle depth and shadow effect
- A finish that is tactile rather than glossy
Because of this process, designs are carefully controlled to ensure the best result.
Design and customisation
Letterpress Business Cards are intentionally limited in customisation.
- You can choose from 12 pre-designed templates
- Each design is paired with a complementary ink colour or blind deboss
- Layouts are optimised specifically for the letterpress process
It is not possible to upload your own design or apply custom debossing or embossing to these cards.
This helps ensure a clean, balanced result that works well with the letterpress process.
Paper and finish
These cards are printed on extra-thick 600gsm Luxe paper, made from Mohawk Superfine® stock.
- Uncoated and naturally textured
- Soft enough to hold a clean debossed impression
- Built with a white seam for a clean, minimal edge
The thickness and softness of the paper are key to achieving the letterpress effect.
